Three Generations Visit South Africa
July, 2009
By Mary Anne Smith
Mary Anne traveled with Duffle & Compass in 2008 to Tanzania. This year she took her daughter, daughter-in-law, and two granddaughters (ages 11 & 13) to South Africa. When we started planning, she said, “My granddaughter wants to see leopard.” And she did!

“We thoroughly enjoyed our recent trip to South Africa. While Kings Camp and Nottens Bush Camp were different in their ambience and amenities, both provided spectacular game viewing. We managed to spot enough leopards to satisfy even my granddaughters!

Patrick and Albert, our guide and tracker at Kings Camp, were outstanding. Patrick provided a wealth of information about many things South African, not just the game we spotted. Emma and Kelly will never forget the helpful housekeepers at Kings Camp who rescued them from the ‘attack of the vervet monkeys' on the patio!
Our accommodations in Cape Town were excellent and our treatment first class (it seemed as though every staff member knew us). often making comments such as “oh yes, the Smith party”). The city is quite lovely and the Cape Peninsula Tour proved varied (from gardens to penguins to historical tidbits) and most interesting.
We’re all looking forward to a future African trip."
