Namibia Calls

September, 2011Hot Air Balloon in Sossusvlei: Karen Baxter

Namibia had been calling out to Karen for years.  She had been to East Africa and now wanted to see this magical land of dunes and sea.  We worked up a two-week itinerary for Karen that took her from Windhoek to Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, Damaraland, Etosha and the Skeleton Coast.

Her plan to travel solo changed when her friend Judy decided that this was an adventure opportunity that she couldn't miss.  And she was right!   Maybe the Today Show heard what an awesome time they had and decided to feature Namibia on their "Where is the World is Matt Lauer?" segment in November!

"The morning shadows turn Namibia’s sand dunes into a monolithic sculpture garden. It was every bit as dramatic as I imagined it would be. Every day brought a new surprise from sand dune surfing in our land rover to the full-grown seal that joined us on our boat, to up close views of lions and rhinos - so amazing we were robbed of speech. It was a world apart."

Carol, thank you for helping us make a long-held dream a reality!
