Private Guides in Rwanda
Experienced, specialist guides accompany each group of gorilla trackers. Group size is generally limited to six persons and there are only a set number of permits allocated for each day. These limitations are necessary to minimize any negative effects to these endangered primates. There are five different family groups of mountain gorillas that have been gradually accustomed to tolerate the presence of humans for a brief period of time.
Many of the guides have been involved in the habituation process and you will receive a detailed briefing prior to setting out on your adventure. The tracking time can vary from one to five hours. Once located, the group is allowed a maximum of one hour with the gorillas before making the trip back.
