Best of Rwanda

7 nights/8 days

This journey in the “land of a thousand hills” begins in the lower altitude area near the Tanzania border where the rolling grasslands and extensive system of wetlands provide wonderful birding opportunities.  Next stop is the jungle area of Nyungwe where you can find rare primates including Trekking: Primate Safaristhe largest arboreal troop of colobus monkeys. The drive along Lake Kivu to the resort towns of Gisenyi and Kibuye offers thrills and sweeping views over the water. Here you can enjoy sandy beaches dotted with palm trees reminiscent of the tropical languor of a long past colonial era. And finally you find yourself beckoned by the awesome Virunga volcanoes and the misty forests that are home to the rare mountain gorilla.
