Roaring Dunes & Oceans
4 Day Sample Itinerary
This is a great idea for those who are looking to extend a Botswana or South Africa safari plan for 3 more nights and get a quick taste of what Namibia has to offer.
This safari brings together some of the world's most dramatic landscapes - the roaring, soaring dunes, the thundering, restless Atlantic Ocean, and the endless, silent skies of the Namib Desert. The journey allows a glimpse into the stunning contrasts of the brown-red dunes and the grey-blue expanse of ocean, both seemingly barren, yet both teeming with a wealth of fauna and flora, all superbly adapted to their surroundings.
You'll be dune walking in the desert and kayaking in Walvis Bay Lagoon - with pink flamingos and white pelicans. Walvis Bay and Sossusvlei are explored in areas predominantly exclusive to this safari's guests. The views and surroundings of each camp or hotel are strikingly different - from immense red dunes to crusted, lunar-like pans to the roaring Atlantic Ocean.

Roaring Dunes & Oceans - Detailed Itinerary
Day 1
After you arrive in Windhoek, you will meet your guide before setting out for Swakopmund. This journey will take you through some fascinating landscapes and stark mountains before your late afternoon arrival at The Stiltz Lodge.
The Stiltz, as its name implies, is built on stilts, providing breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, the red iron-rich beach dunes and also the Swakopmund River mouth. Each of the minimalist yet elegantly furnished thatched bungalows is linked by wooden walkways to the main restaurant. The Stiltz is located close to the central part of this quaint and charming town of Swakopmund. It has a unique urban atmosphere that is a vibrant combination of Africa and Europe and is known for its hospitality, history and cuisine.

Days 2 & 3
You will depart after breakfast to travel along the Kuiseb riverbed, past old mines, through the geologically interesting Kuiseb Canyon to the private Sossusvlei concession where you will stay at the Kulala Adventurer Camp for two nights. The camp will be set prior to your arrival. The tents are spacious, walk-in dome tents with canvas bedrolls, crisp cotton sheets and duvets set out on GI stretchers. There are flush toilets and bucket showers with hot water whenever you need it. You will enjoy access to the Sossusvlei dunes, walks in the immense moving sands of the Namib, game drives and star gazing. Photographers will want to capture the dunes in the early morning when they are particularly stunning with rich reds and dark shadows completing the dazzling reality that is the enormity of the Namib Desert.

Day 4
After breakfast you will head towards Windhoek with a picnic lunch to enjoy at a scenic overview location. Upon arrival in Windhoek, you will continue your onward journey.
